Black terminal heart. White product face.

One independent studio, both halves of the panda. The dark half signs the builds and audits the dependencies; the white half makes software your thumb actually likes. Neither half works alone.

README.md

The studio.

Everything worth knowing about us fits in one README. No press kit, no mission-statement generator — just the file at the root of the repo.

panda-the-app

Panda The App is an independent app studio building for macOS, iOS, and Android: entertainment apps, trackers and utilities, fun games, and small-business tools. Founded 2026, headcount measured in single digits, ambition measured in decades — the roadmap runs ten years, from the first shipped tracker all the way to an enterprise SaaS platform. We are in no hurry, and that is on purpose.

the duality

A panda is black and white. So are we. Underneath: hacker discipline — signed and notarized builds, sandboxed processes, zero third-party trackers, codename: BAMBOO MAINFRAME humming in the dark. On top: warm, human software with round corners and no manual required. The terminal you're reading this in is decorative today and product tomorrow — the aesthetic is a promise about the engineering, not a costume.

principles

01 Ship small and native. One sharp tool beats one blunt platform, and platform-native code beats a webview wearing a trench coat.

02 Announce early, in the open queue. Every app gets a public card before it ships — status, platforms, changelog. If we're late, you'll watch us be late.

03 Never sell user data. Not "anonymized," not "aggregated," not "to trusted partners." The revenue model is: you pay for apps, we make apps.

04 Offline is a feature, not an error state. Your data lives on your device first and syncs when it feels like it — much like the panda, who is a night owl.

"Half the panda writes the code. The other half deletes the tracking SDK."

Our word, signed.

Most studios publish values. We publish a hash. The verify button recomputes the SHA-256 of the sentence below in your own browser — if anyone ever edits our word, the signature goes bad. Try it.

Built paranoid, so you can relax.

Hacker aesthetic on the surface, hacker discipline underneath. Every app we ship follows the same standing orders.

[OK] code-signed + notarized builds — Gatekeeper and Play Protect friendly, always

[OK] sandboxed by default — apps touch only what they need, nothing else

[OK] zero third-party trackers — your data is not the product, bamboo is

[OK] encrypted sync — end-to-end, bamboo-grade ciphers

[OK] local-first storage — offline is a feature, not an error state
